'Twas the night before Comrades...

'Twas the night before Comrades, and all through the house … let’s face it, I’m going crazy here. Today was an awesome, exciting day, and I’ll give you the full update later. WOW! Did things change when we were driving to Pietermaritzberg! It is hilly!! On the drive up I was getting butterflies in my stomach - getting really nervous! Now I just feel vaguely unwell and food doesn’t have a lot of flavour.

I’ve got my kit laid out for tomorrow and I have my bag for the finish line, and the best looking porter to bring it there. I think I’m ready….

  1. Good Luck Tonight (this morning?)!

I'll try and get my mac to accept the windows player so I can watch the start - but either way am looking forward to hearing the stories

  2. Just check the results!

Congrats! Just to finish is quite the accomplishment, but to do it in under 8 hours is fantastic!!!!!

  3. Congratulations Matt! What an accomplishment to finish that race, and if I read the stats correctly that qualifies you for a "Bill Rowan" medal. Enjoy the rest of the trip - you've earned it.

  4. Hey Matt! Congrats on doing an amazing time! i still think you're crazy though! i watched a lot of the race, but i'm not sure if i saw you. we were all very excited here, and so very proud of you! Take care, if anything hurts take an ice bath!

  5. Great run Matt! I'm now inspired to go head-to-head with you in a 10k, first you run 89 km, and then we start. I know ... I would still lose.

Enjoy the rest of the trip, scenery looks amazing, say Hi to Shaun and Jess, and safe travels home.

  6. Congrats, Matt! You are the man! What a great thing you've done - I am so impressed. Lou Anne

  7. Amazing job Matt - congratulations! All your hard work has certainly paid off. Enjoy the rest of your trip and I'll see you soon.

  8. Heard through the office grapevine you did good so gratz...oh and great photographs!

Yes, we have a grapevine now.

  9. Thanks everybody for the support!!
